I'd love to switch my domain provider to a European or even German one. Problem is, that they charge more for .com, .net, .org domains, than in the US. Can anyone recommend a provider in the EU, that doesn't?
Note, that i need to be able to set DNS entries myself later.

(I've been with Gandi for many years, but their domains are insanely expensive, especially since they've been enshittified last year - I really need to get round to switching soon!)

@AxWax That's the same point here. I've been with hostforweb since 20 years and that weirdly sympathetic bunch of Russian server admins in Chicago got bought out by a world-wide hosting trust end of last year.

@jrp What kind of prices do you have in the US?
Just tried GoDaddy for a .net domain and it's about the same as my own Belgian provider charges.

@n3wjack Currently 15.99 $ per .com/.net/.org - however registering over here makes it 18€ suddenly. Can't do that. Also Godaddy is another US company.

@_jayrope I'm using Domainname.shop for my domains. Mainly because it's a Norwegian provider, but also I've never had a reason to complain in the 20 years or so I've been using them.

@_jayrope Yes, they offer both a nice web based view to edit the domains as you wish, or even to edit the zone file directly. You can also host your own zone files/name servers if you want.

Edit, as it may not have been clear: you don't have to sign up for the web hosting part if you only want the domains. That's what I do, I only buy the domains, and use their name servers (which is free with the domains.)
