I'd like to test posting images on (streams) today. But this will require writing another extensive image description.
I hope I'll be done in less than five hours.
Please don't interrupt me while I'm doing this.

So I've just used a bit over 3,000 characters to explain where the image was made. There's next to no scenery in the image, so one could say it doesn't matter where it was made, but still.

After some four hours, the full description appears to be done. Granted, the scenery in the images is limited to sky, sea and a bit of wooden pier, but there's an avatar to describe and explain.
Almost 12,900 characters. I used to describe much more complex images in only a few more characters.
Now I have to do the shorter description for the alt-text.

When you have 1,250 characters of alt-text, and you think it isn't detailed enough yet because there are still 250 characters to use up.
Regardless of not quite 13,000 characters of full description to be put into the post itself.

Since I'm basically done after only four hours for the full description and maybe half an hour for the short description, I might wait until tomorrow and add a second picture.

Okay, I'm describing a second image now.
I sincerely hope I can get away without describing every last detail of an art easel that carries a picture.

For those who are curious: The post is done. Find the link to it
here
. (Sorry, link to a link, but I'm careful.)
Some 8 hours of describing plus about 1 hour altogether to distill the two alt-texts. Only 22,270 characters for the whole post, 20,377 of which are image description. 1,500 and 1,499 characters for the two alt-texts.

I can See the Text, But not the images. Instead: access restricted.
I also have no idea how to follow the Account from Mastodon?

I hope it's fixed now. Both the folder and the images were restricted.

I would have thought that (streams) simplified those typical issues of HZ. Kinda disappointing that it doesn't.
Edit: And i can see the images only as attachments, not inline, from HZ 9.2.1. In that regard i am missing out on any alt text. That is here:

The tricky part is to keep in mind that (streams) defaults to private and pay attention to whatever you're doing.
Unless you set your entire channel to public, of course. But that defeats half the purpose of permission roles because (streams) can't deny in roles what the channel allows either.

Well, the roles issues are the same then as well. I've set my channel to public and choose more private roles, when i see them fit.
