I reshared a post from a Mastodon contact. There was a couple of comments from my Hubzilla contacts.
After logging out I noticed the public stream: There was another comment on my post, from a Mastodon user I am not connected to.
I logged in again to check - no such comment.
I double-checked my permissions. I don't allow open comments.

@Mario Vavti Is this a known problem? I haven't seen it before.

The first is the public stream, the second is what I see when logged in.

@!Maria Karlsen Maria, how did you manage to upload images here? Did you have to upload to your own channel first and then reference them or is there a direct option? I dont have a direct option.

@_jayrope There is no Mastodon-style "upload your image somewhere and add it to this post just like that" button on Hubzilla. You actually have to upload images to the file space built into your channel first. Then you can add them with the image button in the editor which will give you the BBcode used for embedding.

This came up the other day. I have an Upload/Attach button when I post/reply, but wasn't able to figure out what causes me to have it when other people don't.

@Jupiter Rowland I know. Should be changed. Too clumsy this way. Another reason, why users often run away, when testing HZ. One day soon I#ll make a complete list, or a post asking all of you, what you are mising in UI/UX. Because HZ is generally capable.

@Maria Karlsen in general currently we can not prevent AP profiles to comment on Hubzilla posts and send theire comments to whoever they see fit. We do actually prevent those comments to appear on the channel and public stream but it seems they can leak to the public stream somehow. Will investigate...

Extant programmers need to write good documentation to attract new participants. The normal behaviour is create new bugs (sorry, "features"), someone else to write how feature is supposed to function.
In terms of this thread context, personal opinion is that the hubzilla management of files is superior because it promotes the user to think about permissions of the file.

However, as posted earlier, file permissions does not work consistently or as expected; documentation problem again.
