My hydroponics system had a great start this year, the salad is almost ready. I also built a second horizontal one. The salad is only for testing, I'm going to plant vegetables there.

That is pretty cool. Itโs a great idea. How did you solve the water supply? Do you just let it flow three the vertical system and pump it up again? That would be a high flow rate? And in the horizontal tube? Just let it rest inside and refill regularly?

it's rather simple. The pumps are regularly turned on and off by some programmable Tasmota wifi switch. Usually it's enough to turn it on for a couple of minutes and then pause for ten minutes. When it gets hotter watering time needs to be a bit longer. The horizontal one needs even less time because the water rests in the pipe and flows slowly back to the reservoir.

And the tubes you used at just standard ones from a DIY?

for the horizontal one I used standard DN 75 PVC pipes from the hardware store, baskets for the plants are 3D printed, see
https://figch.de/index.php?nav=hydroponic
The vertical one is completely 3D printed except for the reservoir, see

Yes, thank you! (Mastodon isn't AP-standard compatible, that's the reason for glitches with Hubzilla here)
