Since the late 1970s, Pierre Bastien has been directing a totally mechanical orchestra consisting of self-playing sound sculptures. With a completely personal aesthetic influenced by Surrealism and Dada, Bastien builds his musical automata by manipulating household objects, acoustic instruments, Meccano pieces and recycled electric motors.

@Flavigula New word "goopy". Sticky, gluey? Acoustic chewing gum, exaggerated sweetness, celebration or pathos?
That analogue drone isn't my everyday listening, but it is well performed. And not just some YT video with a guy playing a synth drone ;)

I enjoyed the colourful and subtle move through timbres.

My friends and I use the word "goopy" a lot in regard to music, especially when it comes to ambient, drone and general lugubrious atmospheres. It's as if one were moving through a thick liquid. Amneotic fluid, even.
