This geological formation at the shores of Lake Crowley, California, USA, leaves me fascinated, speechless. It has formed 760.000 years ago, when water has been floating back into very hot tuff after a gigantic volcanic explosion. The water instantly boiled, and so blew it all out. You can't make those things up, really.

@jrp Well it’s on the Discworld so there’s something of a time differential, but the mythology of the Hogfather is such that the Castle of Bones is exceedingly ancient (dawn of man type ancient).
Also, as depicted in the movie version it looks to have been naturally formed so possibly much older ?
Either way, our version is amazing & awesome 😲😁 & thank you for sharing it 🫶🖖
