Wings? Hm. I may be mistaken, but I believe that "spinning" is what we refer to in Swedish. As in spinning yarn.

Spannen (Dutch) might point to the max messure of the wings. Spinner is used for Sailboats but Spinnen is a spider or an insect that is spinning a cocoon :-)
