Delete inactive connections by length of inactivity ?

@!Hubzilla Support Forum Do we have an ergonomic way to select inactive connections by length of inactivity - say last post is one year old/6 months etc. what have you - and then delete them all at once?

@Harald Eilertsen The broader scope of your idea is good for sure. That way all those things could find their way into one interface. Got to say, though, that i love UI things, that have one function. Like a form field stating
'Delete accounts inactive since [date]'
-> clicking button 'Go' -
Popup: 'Do you really want to delete all accounts inactive since [date]?'
-> choosing from buttons 'Yes / No / Change date'

etc.

I believe Hubzilla marks accounts it can't reach as stale. I'm not sure what the duration is.

Really we could do with more batch processing tools in general. Also a more compact view of Connections so that it's easier to see everyone at once. Bonus points for being able to turn off infinite scroll.

@dynamic_hubzilla Like i said above, batch processing is okay to have, but more for coders. Because you gotta know exactly what you want. But if you get singular options, like Delete all accounts inactive since [date], then you know exactly, what you're going for, without any coder skills. Hubzilla is too full of things, that require coder skills. It doesn't need to stay just like that. HZ would apply to way more potential users, if we had more direct options.

Another solution is to sort the directory by last activity, so that active accounts always bubble to the top. And then give users other ways to search and sort the directory.

Hubzilla will periodically ping channels and servers it knows about to see if they are still active. It it can't reach it, it tries again a few more time. After a certain amount of time, Hubzilla basically gives up and marks it inactive ("archived").

I am not sure of the exact time frame. But channels marked as "archived" are probably dead.

@Ema エマ @Marshall Sutherland @scott @dynamic_hubzilla "Archived" connections as an automatic sorting done by Hubzilla doesn't do it for me. I still would prefer to define the params of "archived" - or rather "inactive" for that matter - myself. SImilar to this:

@*_jayrope Pepe's old Nomád (nomad.pepecyb.de) is dead, and so are the three Middle Earth instances. You can delete any contacts on them. Pepe has a new Nomád now.
