The differences between a #boost, available on Mastodon, or a #reshare anywhere are so striking.

While blocking boosts i realize, that i don't miss any of the calculating "Go viral!" back thoughts there.
I am enjoying very much the confidence of a reshared post, very often accompanied by an additional comment providing additional perspective by the one who shares. Better concept for me.

i think they (mastodon) are planning to introduce some "quote" feature that allows resharing as we know it. while my VPS wasn't working properly i spent some time on mastodon. feels like something between pre-X twitter and hubzilla, with streams at the other end of the scale.

I think that both boosts and quote posts have their place. (I am avoiding the term reshare since that means different things on different platforms.)

I just wish that Hubzilla would present Boosts and posts separately in the notifications. Especially if you follow certain people that literally boost every post they like. It can overflow your inbox! A lot of times the boosts are cool things, but I prefer to read posts from people I follow first, and then look at boosts later.
