The Neumann U47 is an exraordinary quality microphone.
I played one in a situdio recording. The dynamic range and characteristic is unbelieveble.

@Kai mit der Kiste I do agree, although I'd say that it depends on where you're using it exactly. Recently recorded various brass and both EV RE-20 and U47 FET gave me good results, sometimes even as an uneven stereo pair. Always nice to have a choice in mixing. Besides that neither of them would have survived on a standard converter, but a Lavry AD11 did the trick well. @audiopro group @recording group

Wahrscheinlich werde ich meine Freunde in den USA nie mehr besuchen. MIttlerweile stehen bei mir selbst Flüge in Drittländer in Frage, bei denen ein Umstieg innerhalb der USA nötig ist.

I am chatting with myself on Bluesky. Works from Hubzilla. Not bad.
Shame, though, that the majority of my music-related friends went from X straight to Bluesky. I guess the whole thing was too familiar. Bluesky has a word limit. And then even 300 chars. How can you stand that?

I read somewhere that it is possible to create different software using ATProto but with a larger character limit -- but Bluesky is hard-coded to ignore any messages with a different limit. You'd need another Bridgy thing to connect them.

Why only 300 characters? I should start a federated system with a 1-character limit, and people can send single emojis to each other. I'm sure it would be even more popular than 300 characters.

X ==> Bluesky doesn't surprise me, but I have three friends who did Facebook ==> Bluesky, and I don't understand that at all. I recommended Hubzilla, but will they try it?

@Bill Statler Well, your friends will not try Hubzilla, It doesn't follow simple principles of being self-explaining, you can only learn that over time with a manual in your hand, that has way too many pages, and then too many sentences. Hubzilla is basically a Mercedes for coders. That's it. For normal people it doesn't get to the point. I'm glad i've a mind that half gets it. But getting older i realize, that I prefer to spend my time with real-life things. If Facebook wasn't owned by technofascists, without AI and recommendations and such BS - and open source... i guess i would use it again.
